Account
Dzunukwa (Tsonoqua), the Wild Woman of the Woods, is a giantess of Kwakwaka'wakw and neighboring Northwest Coast traditions - often black-bodied, pursed-lipped, associated with the cry "hu!" and with the deep forest beyond the village. She may steal children, yet she also holds great wealth and supernatural treasures that heroes can win through courage or cunning.
