Geryon lived on Erytheia, the red island at the edge of the known world, where the sun sinks into Ocean. He was triple-bodied - or three-headed, depending on the poet - a giant who herded magnificent red cattle with the help of the herdsman Eurytion and the two-headed dog Orthrus, brother of Cerberus.
