Ojáncanu

The ojáncanu is a roughly ten-foot, one-eyed giant of Cantabrian mythology - red-bearded, forest-dwelling, destructive to livestock and people, often given extra fingers as a mark of excess. His female counterpart, the ojáncana, is sometimes even fiercer. They are opposed by the benevolent anjana, fairy-like guardians of the green highlands of northern Spain.
